Best Conditioner I've Ever Used December 21, 2007 Dominica M. Dailey (Bay Area, CA) 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
I am a biracial female (half black, half white) and I have extremely curly hair. I have been to hundreds of hair dressers, most who have either ruined my hair or just said "I don't know how to do your hair." What makes my hair so unusual is that it is extremely thick, but it consists of different textures. I have had hairdressers tell me that I have 7 different layers of hair, all different textures. So I have spent my entire 25 years of age shopping and trying out different hair products. When I came across mixed chicks hair products, I assumed it was just a gimmick. But I read the 2 reviews and decided to try it. When I got the product, I was skeptic because the labeling was fading and the bottles looked cheap. But this is proof that you should never judge a book by a cover. The conditioner literally melts the knots out of my hair. I never brush my hair; I can only pick it out in the shower, which usually causes me to take 20-30 minute showers. This conditioner cuts my work in half. I don't even need a pick anymore; I can just run my fingers through my hair once the conditioner is in. This is in no way an exaggeration! This is my first review on Amazon and I felt the need to share this wonderful hair changing experience for other people who have wild hair like mine. Thank you to who ever created this fabulous product!
Deep Conditioner December 1, 2007 QuirkyYogini (Germany) 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
This is another great product from Mixed Chicks. I am half black/half white (3C hair), and I've never found a product that I've been fully satisfied with. I was wary of the reviews of Mixed Chicks from other places because they seemed way too good to be true, but I tried it anyway. I'm so glad that I did!
My hair looks and feels great, I'm shedding less, and it smells wonderful! I keep getting compliments on my hair and how great it looks. I knew the first time that I started washing the conditioner out of my hair that it was everything that it said it was. My hair has never felt so soft and healthy. I recommend this product for any biracial person who is so tired of having products designed for either white OR black hair. Really, I think that anyone with curly hair will love this, but I definitely recommend it for biracial people.
Keep in mind that this is not a miracle cure. If your hair is already very damaged, it's not going to suddenly be perfect overnight, but I think that you will notice a difference. After continuous use, I think that anyone will notice improvement.
Anyway, I will definitely be using Mixed Chicks again and again.
***UPDATE***
About 9 months ago I quit using Mixed Chicks products because I decided to try the Curly Girl method, which involves eliminating certain ingredients that this contains. I will not change my star rating because it is still the best non-CG conditioner I've used, and it totally changed my hair.
Anyway, I would like to mention that after hanging around the naturallycurly.com message boards, I have found that you either love this product or hate it. I am saddened that several people have tried this with poor results, and it just goes to show that people with similar looking hair can still require different types of products for their hair. If that is you, I've heard good things about Blended Beauty products, so maybe that is the product for you. You also might want to consider the Curly Girl/Guy (CG) method as explained on the NC message boards.
I am going to post this update on my reviews of Mixed Chick's products as well.
Too rich for my hair but the best for my pooch May 13, 2010 mother suburb (So CA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I received Mixed Chicks shampoo, leave in conditioner and deep conditioner as a gift. No matter how much I tried to adjust the amount I used I could not achieve results I was happy with. For my hair, the product is too rich. I adopted a Bichon Frise from my local shelter. He has very curly white hair/fur. I washed him with the shampoo and then conditioned his coat with the conditioners and I found these products to be fantastic for my dog. I know that is not what they were formulated for but they are awesome. They clean his coat gently and the conditioners allow me blow dry and brush his coat with beautiful, soft and great smelling results. I have washed him many, many times and he has never had a negative reaction to these products. Perhaps the company might look into products for canines. I am hooked :)

Smells great, works great. Leave it in your hair for about an hour, wash it out, leave hair either curly or blow it out. Excellent product.
Mixed Chicks Deep Conditioner July 16, 2010 Pam C. 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My daughter is biracial and has beautiful ringlets. Under the back of her neck tangles frequently, especially if we try a ponytail or something. I have tried MANY products (Pink, Motions, oil sheen spray, Pantene and others).
I actually also bought the Mixed Chicks leave-in conditioner. It is okay, but the Deep Conditioner definitely helps me comb her hair out while in the bathtub. It is not a miracle worker by any means, and I still "pull her hair" some, but definately not as much. I can feel the difference in the tangles; and I leave it in, I do not rinse it out. I find it defines her ringlets pretty well and the next day when I wet her hair to comb it, that is when I use the Mixed Chicks leave-in condition. It works okay, but I like the Deep Conditioner better. [[ASIN:B0013JSK7M Mixed Chicks Deep Conditioner - 8 oz]
